Glens Falls Post-Star on Square Eddy Expeditions

JOHNSBURG — Lori Benton and Lincoln Marsac have been guides for large Hudson River rafting companies for years, but when they struck out on their own this year to open Square Eddy Expeditions, they decided to keep it small.

“It’s so different than working for this big company,” Benton said. “In this situation, (customers are) like our guests. We want to keep them small, quality trips.”

Square Eddy Expeditions operates out of a garage behind Izzy’s Restaurant & Deli on Main Street in North Creek, where the doors open to reveal a rack of whitewater gear behind a desk and oars hanging on the walls with tie-dyed Square Eddy T-shirts hung from the oars by their sleeves.
